A unique collection, an enchanting village
There are over fifty dolls on display at the Museum of Doll Art in Suvereto, charming village in Val di Cornia.
An extraordinary experience that, through the magnificent Collection of Maria Micaelli, tells the story of the evolution of costumes, styles and materials – from porcelain to bisque, from rag to celluloid, along with pannolenci, fabric and papier-mâché – illustrating some moments of contemporary Italian history.
Amazing unique pieces and works of art and craft made by the most important factories in Italy: the exhibits from Lenci in Turin include Violetta (1921), the doll that has become the symbol of the museum, inspired by the star of Verdi’s La Traviata.
