Around 8km of almost entirely public beaches in the gulf between Piombino and Follonica.
Beaches
The beach is made of light-coloured, fine sand, delimited by a narrow dune belt on which the tenacious pioneer herbaceous plants, specialised in living in dry and salty soil and affected by the continuous action of the wind that “whips” their foliage, grow. The beach is made of light-coloured, fine sand, delimited by a narrow dune belt on which the tenacious pioneer herbaceous plants, specialised in living in dry and salty soil and affected by the continuous action of the wind that “whips” their foliage, grow.
Some wider dunes house strips of coastal pine groves where you can relax on sultry summer days in the shade of the stone pines, lulled by the chirping of the cicadas.
The coastal area has services such as refreshment points, lidos, public toilets and showers, wheelchair access, small shops, picnic areas and parking areas for cars and camper vans. All this is any case linked to the maximum tourist footfall that the area can support.
The beaches are located at Perelli, Carlappiano, Mortelliccio, Pino, Carbonifera, Torre Mozza, with pay and display car parks for cars and camper vans.
